I have light-colored floors. Can I make them darker?

Yes! The beauty of hardwood flooring is its ability to change its look by simply changing the color of its stain. The sanding process will remove the old urethane coating and stain, so you can start with a clean slate. From there you can stain your flooring as light or as dark as you want it to be.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes! We will work with all insurance companies.

If I have a black stain from over-watering a plant, do I need to replace the floor or will it sand off?

For this question, each case is slightly different. Depending on the nature of the stain, it may be a surface stain or it may have penetrated into the wood. Generally, most flooring can be repaired and we will attempt to sand off the stain before replacing the boards.

Will I see color chips to choose my new floor stain color?
We offer a wide variety of colors for your new floor stain. However, color chips do not well represent the new color for your flooring, as each board has a different color and grain pattern. We prefer to do color samples right on your own floor on the day we begin the sanding process. Once you have chosen your preferred color, we’ll sand the area back down and start with a clean slate.
When I moved my rug, there's a lighter area where the rug was. What happened to the flooring?
Wood flooring goes through a natural aging process called patina. Bright sunlight accelerates this process. Moving your rugs frequently or closing window coverings during hours of peak sunlight from time to time reduces exposure and is generally recommended.
